The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation's Black Women's Roundtable dropped the second installment of its 10th annual survey on the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, released exclusively through The Root. The headline finding: Black women head into the midterms angry, financially stretched, and skeptical of Washington, but nowhere near checked out. Protecting the social safety net edged past cost of living as the number one priority, driven by anxiety over Social Security and Medicare.
