Women Legislators’ Lobby (WiLL) is holding a Twitter chat, using the hashtag #WomenPowerVote on August 25, at 1:30 pm EST with individuals, organizations, and the public to talk about what 100 years of the women’s vote have meant for women and the country.
August 18, 2020 marked 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which prevents an individual from being denied the right to vote on the basis of sex. While it would take several decades before equal access to the ballot box would be fully implemented in the U.S., it was a step in ensuring more voices in the electoral process.
